President of the Republic, Field Marshal has affirmed Sudan’s
unlimited cooperation with the African Peace and Security Council, and
all its mechanisms, to realize its targeted goals.
President Al-Basher, addressing the 31th Summit of the African Union,
in Nuakshout, stressed Sudan’s commitment to reach a settlement through
dialogue and negotiations, referring to the organization of a national
and societal dialogue including all the effective political forces and
the armed opposition that accepted the dialogue, came out with a
comprehensive national document that solved all issues with a unified
vision.
Al-Basher has expressed the government’s keenness to meet all the
initiatives aimed at realization of peace through the AU mechanisms or
the other initiatives through the negatiations with those who hold arms.
He renewed call for the armed groups to respond to peace call and join the process of national development.
“Sudan’s commitment to cooperate for realizationof peace and security
is confirmed by the visits carried out by the AU Peace and Security
Commissioner and the UN Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian
Affairs to Darfur and Khartoum during last May and April” Al-Basher
stressed.
Concerning the joint strategy of the Government of the Sudan, the
United Nations and the African Union on the phased exit of UNAMID,
Al-Basher stressed the government's cooperation with UNAMID and until
the implementation of the strategy of total exit from Sudan.
